B.A.O.A.S

The ATP CTP consists of 40 hours total training, 30 hours of ground school learning and 10 hours of simulator learning in both Fixed Training Devices (FTD) and Full Flight Simulators (FFS). The program footprint includes:

    B.A.O.A.S

  • Training in navigation
  • Automation
  • Runway safety
  • High altitude operations
  • Low energy states
  • Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT)

After completion of your ATP CTP, you can choose to take your tests with us at B.A.O.A.S Flight Academy or at a location elsewhere in the USA.

An ATP CTP certificate does not have an expiration date, however, ATP Knowledge Test results are valid for five years from the date the test was taken.

Graduates of our PPPAPT and CPT programs are eligible for a discount when they enroll on our ATP CTP.

Phase Details
Ground school – 4 days (30 hours)
  • Class will begin at 8:00am Monday – Thursday and you must attend each day to complete the program
  • Please ensure you arrive before the start of class at 8:00am
  • We partner with crew hotels near the training center – during the enrollment process we will provide you with the hotel location and crew rates. Shuttles are available free of charge to up to 3 miles (to/from the airport, to/from the training center)
  • Lunch break (1 hour) – times vary from day to day, but usually around noon during ground school
  • There is a cafeteria on site with average prices of $7 – $10
  • Refrigerators/microwaves/toasters vending machines are available at the training facility
Flight training – 2-3 days (10 hours)
  • After completion of ground school day 4, you will be scheduled for 3 simulator sessions
  • One session in a fixed base trainer (4 hours)
  • Two sessions in a Full Flight Simulator (3 hours/each)
  • You can log up to 6 hours of Full Flight Simulator time so don’t forget to bring your logbook
  • You must make your own arrangements with the hotel to request shuttle service to and from the training center
  • Please note: you do not need to bring headsets with you for the SIM sessions

 

Academic training content consists of:

  • High-altitude aerodynamics and maneuvering
  • Airplane weather detection systems
  • Advanced physiology/fitness for flight
  • Multi-crew communication training
  • Multi-crew environment checklist usage
  • Low-visibility operations
  • Advanced navigation concepts unique to air carrier operations
  • Air carrier safety culture to include safety programs used to enhance air carrier safety, including: Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)

ATP CTP program admission requirements

Minimum admission requirements are as follows, for additional requirements please contact admissions.

Age Applicants must be at least 17 years and 6 months old at the start of the program.
Medical All applicants must provide a photocopy of an FAA Medical Certificate.
Selection Cadets must complete a Wonderlic assessment and meet or exceed the minimum score requirement of 17.
