During our Airline Pilot Standards Multi Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) pilot course in the UK, you will learn standard operating procedures to advance your handling skills within realistic scenarios so that flying in normal and non-normal conditions becomes second nature.

Throughout the APS MCC course, you will also develop self-awareness, teamwork, interpersonal, workload management decision making and non-technical skills, all of which are essential skills for becoming an airline pilot.

The APS MCC pilot training course is UK-based, taking place at our state-of-the-art London Training Centre and is designed to deliver the requirements necessary to obtain your:

  • Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) certificate which is based around the principles of Crew Resource Management (CRM)
  • Jet Orientation Training (JOT)

Ground school – 4 days

To gain your Airline Pilot Standards Multi Crew Cooperation certificate, you will be introduced to technical and non-technical skills as well as knowledge to be able to operate a commercial air transport aircraft. Threat and Error Management and Crew Resource Management are among the other concepts and skills cadets will develop during APS MCC training.

Simulator training – 10 days

Cadets will train on B.A.O.A.S RealitySeven Full Flight Simulators (Boeing 737 Flight Simulator or Airbus 320 Simulator).

Cadets complete 10 days of flight training consisting of:

  • 20 hours of Multi-Crew Co-Operating (MCC) Training
  • 12 hours of Advanced Swept-Wing Jet Aeroplane Operations
  • 4 hours Advanced Airline Operations Scenario Training
  • 4 hours of Final Assessed (including 2 hours Advanced Airline Operations)

Entry criteria

To be accepted on our APS MCC course, you must meet the following entry criteria:

Experience

  • Hold a Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating

Age and height

  • 17+ to submit an application. 18+ to commence training
  • Height between 5 ft. 2 in. (157 cm) and 6 ft. 3 in. (191 cm). Applicants outside of this may still apply for our APS MCC course but will need an ergonomic assessment

Language

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Non-native English speakers must achieve level 5.5 individual and overall in IELTS or equivalent ICAO level 4 prior to start of APS MCC pilot training

Visas

  • Unrestricted right to live, study and work in the UK (e.g. UK national, EU national with settled or pre-settled status)
  • If required: Meet the United Kingdom Visa & Immigration Service requirements to qualify for a Visitor (study for six months or less) or Student visa (study for more than six months)

Medical

  • Obtain / be able to obtain a UKCAA or EASA unrestricted Class 1 Medical depending on your chosen route. Learn more about the necessary medical requirements

Selection

  • Cut-e testing and a competency interview, if you haven’t done so already through a previous modular application. If an interview has been carried out previously then a confirmatory interview will take place
