CommuteAir Development Program

Enrolling in our Professional Pilot Program or Accelerated Airline Pilot Track will provide you with the opportunity to apply to become a CommuteAir cadet. CommuteAir pilots have access to a direct path to United Airlines!

Students enrolled in the CommuteAir Pilot Development programs complete a thorough mentoring process to gain an understanding of airline operations and professionalism. Once completed, students may participate in a paid internship and interview for a contingent job offer before they graduate from their collegiate programs.

From British student, to CommuteAir, to United

Step 1 – Enroll at British

The first step in your journey to becoming an airline pilot is to enroll in our Professional Pilot Program or Accelerated Airline Pilot Track. Both of these programs include accredited curriculum and airline oriented training that can take you from no experience to becoming a Certified Flight Instructor in as little as 15 months!

Step 2 – Join the Pilot Development Program

The next step is to apply to the CommuteAir Pilot Development Program. If accepted, you will be receive mentoring and an opportunity to participate in a paid internship!

Step 3 – Build your experience

Those that complete our PPP or AAPT are guaranteed an interview to flight instruct at British in Florida. Our Instructors fly an average of 100 hours per month and 96% of our cadets who stay at British to instruct are placed at an airline!

Step 4 – Become an airline pilot

After reaching the FAA mandated 1500 hours of flight time, you will be eligible to earn your Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. As a CommuteAir First Officer, you can receive up to $74,000 your first year!

Step 5 – Fly at United Airlines

The United Career Path Program (CPP) is designed to identify talented CommuteAir pilot recruits and place them on a direct path to a United Airlines flight deck. The record is 2 years and 10 days from CommuteAir Indoc to United Indoc!
